Rob Heller graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1984 and soon began developing his career in insurance and specifically employee benefits. In the same year, Rob founded Alpha Benefits, an employee benefits consulting firm outside of Philadelphia, and grew the company to become one of the top employee benefits brokerages in Pennsylvania. After operating for 24 years, Brown & Brown Insurance acquired Alpha Benefits which became Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania in 2008. With the original Alpha Benefits team still onboard and Rob now president of Brown & Brown of PA, the company acquired Moten Associates in 2012 and Liberty Insurance Brokers in 2015, adding a powerhouse Property and Casualty division to the Conshohocken office. Due to Rob’s strong leadership and insurance expertise, Brown & Brown of PA has grown to include 3 offices: Conshohocken, PA, Mechanicsburg, PA, and Philadelphia, PA.
In his free time, Rob enjoys spending time with his family and vacationing at the beach during the warm weather months. He also enjoys holding an active role as a member of the Board of Directors of Einstein Healthcare and volunteering for the Daniel B. Allanoff Foundation.
Ed Chorzelewski graduated in 1990 from Saint Leo University (Florida) with a B.A. in Finance. After graduating, he began his career with Independence Blue Cross and stayed with the company for over a decade. He advanced his expertise through multiple positions that focused on driving responsibility in the Marketing and Sales Division.
In 2000, Ed joined Brown & Brown and became responsible for overseeing Brown & Brown Consulting’s Wholesale Brokerage Division. He pushed to put an emphasis on the professional development of internal staff and serving the diverse needs of over 900 outside insurance agents. Under Ed’s direction, the Division became one of the largest and well-respected intermediaries in the Philadelphia region with over $500 million of premiums under management. Ed was promoted to Executive Vice President of Brown & Brown Consulting in 2010 and now has over 26 years of experience in the employee benefits field. He is also an active member of Independence Blue Cross’ Broker Advisory Board.
Dan McCormick began his career in insurance in 1983 as a Group Representative for UNUM in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Seven years later, Dan co-founded Greystone Benefits, a regional employee benefits firm specializing in solutions for clients between 10-500 employees. After growing very successful, Greystone Benefits was acquired by Brown & Brown in 2000 and became a part of Brown & Brown of PA. Dan now serves as a Senior Vice President of Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania and Benefits Operations Leader of the Conshohocken and Mechanicsburg offices. In his current role, Dan works hard to maintain relationships with previous clients and continues to create new ones.
In his free time, Dan guides his three children in their junior tennis careers that have taken them all to Division 1 universities. He values spending time with his family in Naples, Florida and also has a passion for fitness activities such as running and cycling.
Todd Hons was part of the original Alpha Benefits team since 1999 and transitioned to the Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania team in 2008 as the Senior Vice President of Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania in the Mechanicsburg office. In his current role, Todd works on a variety of projects including employee benefits consulting for all size employers, specializing in large groups. He also has an extensive overall market knowledge of funding arrangements, plan design, problem solving, and developing creative programs.
Originally from Bloomsburg, PA, Todd earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from California University of PA in 1991. He began his career in insurance working for Susquehanna Health Care until relocating to the Harrisburg area in 1995. Todd also has professional experience working for major carriers such as Capital Blue Cross and Highmark Blue Shield.
In his free time, Todd enjoys spending time with his family and focusing on his two daughters’ school and athletic activities.
Kim Nash was part of the original Alpha Benefits team since 2005 and transitioned to the Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania team in 2008 as the Director of HR Services. In her current role as Vice President of Client Compliance and HR Services for Brown & Brown of Pennsylvania, Kim provides top-notch business and human resource consulting to clients. She also develops various human resource and training programs. Many of Brown & Brown of PA’s clients know Kim very well from her monthly webinars that she organizes and hosts on human resource topics relevant to the industry.
Originally from Linglestown, PA, Kim first earned her Associate Degree in Accounting and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management. In addition to 30 years of business and human resource experience, Kim has received SHRM-SCP, SPHR and CMS certifications.
In her free time, Kim enjoys kayaking, biking, going to the beach and cruise vacations.
